December saw the televised finals of the World Strongest Man competition. If that hasn’t whet the appetite of Hypertrophy loving gym enthusiasts to get fit then I don’t know what will!

This years’ title was won by 35 year old, Lithuanian, Zydrunas Savickas alias ‘Big Z’. Savickas is 6x Strongman Champion and holds 19 world records. His favourite event is the log lift in which he holds 6 world record titles.

Savickas started his training at the tender age of 13 and was competing by 16, he trains for 3 hours a day, 6 times a week using a combination of cardio and power lifting and taking part in Strongman events.
